Announcing the New MobileAPI.dev: Faster, Bigger & Built for Modern Device Catalogues
If you’re building device catalogues, comparison tools, or mobile apps, this update gives you:
-
A fresh, faster UI and fully updated documentation
-
15,000+ devices with richer technical specs, images, and pricing data
-
21 new, granular endpoints to query devices exactly how you need
-
New dashboards and more precise plan limits for easier monitoring
And the best part? Everything is backwards compatible. Your existing integration continues to work as-is.

What’s New in MobileAPI.dev
1. Fresh UI & Fully Updated Docs
We’ve redesigned both the marketing site and dashboard to make it easier to understand what the API can do at a glance and to help you get from signup to first call in minutes.
You’ll find:
-
Cleaner navigation and more precise feature breakdowns
-
An updated API explorer with live examples
-
Copy-and-paste code snippets so developers can integrate faster
👉 Check it out: MobileAPI.dev homepage
2. Bigger Device Database: 15,000+ Models
MobileAPI.dev now covers 15,000+ smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches from 200+ manufacturers, with more devices being added as they launch.
This expanded database lets you:
-
Power phone comparison tools with deep coverage
-
Keep ecommerce catalogues in sync with the latest specs
-
Offer better search & filters across more markets and price points
3. Multiple Images Per Device
Instead of a single hero shot, you can now retrieve multiple high-quality images per device:
-
Different angles and colour variants
-
Consistent backgrounds and framing
-
Metadata you can use to optimise your UI
That means richer product pages, more engaging comparison views, and less time spent manually sourcing images.
4. 21 New & Granular Endpoints
We’ve rebuilt the API around clear, granular endpoints so you can query exactly what you need without over-fetching.
Some highlights:
-

-
Get device by ID
-

100% Backwards Compatible for Existing Integrations
If you’re already using MobileAPI.dev, you don’t need to change anything.
-
Duplicate URLs and parameters: your current integration continues to work exactly as before.
-
Only additive changes: responses now include additional fields, but nothing has been removed or renamed, so existing parsers and mappers won’t break.
-
Legacy plans preserved: existing subscribers keep their current limits and pricing as a Legacy plan. No surprises.
The new endpoints are optional. You can adopt them incrementally whenever you’re ready for richer data or more advanced use cases.
If we ever need to introduce a breaking change, it will be:
-
Clearly versioned
-
Announced in advance
-
Shipped with at least 90 days’ notice, so you have time to upgrade.
What’s Coming Next
We’re not stopping here. Over the next few months ,we’re working on:
-
Native integrations & connectors
-
Zapier
-
n8n
-
RapidAPI
-
And more, based on your feedback
-
-
Laptops & more device categories
-
Extending our database beyond phones, tablets, and wearables into laptops and other device types so that you can power even broader catalogues and tools.
-
If there’s a specific connector, data field, or workflow you’d love to see, reply to this post or contact us from the dashboard—your feedback is driving the roadmap.
